At Dime Bank, community involvement is part of who we are. The Dime Bank Blue Crew brings employees together to support local nonprofits, participate in volunteer events, and give back in meaningful ways. From helping out at food pantries, leading financial education workshops to neighborhood clean‑ups and charity fundraisers, our team is committed to making a positive impact.

In 2025, the Dime Blue Crew completed 750 hours of volunteer service to support various organizations and causes in our region. 

It takes a village ready to help! 

At Dime Bank, we don't have just a few employee volunteers. We have dozens of devoted Blue Crew members. In 2009, the Blue Crew began as a grassroots effort to build on our bank's tradition of giving back to the communities we serve.

  • The Blue Crew participates in events that support education, nonprofits, and virtually every form of human needs
  • Recent efforts include taking part in community clean-up projects, marching in local parades, volunteering at our local food pantries, and more

Frequently asked questions

We are happy to consider helping non-profit organizations that are headquartered and have projects within the towns where we have a branch present. Please note that projects may be limited to those opportunities that do not conflict with the hours that the bank is open. 

No, it is not required to be a bank customer to have Blue Crew come help. However, priority is given to non-profit organizations that have an existing banking relationship with Dime Bank. 

Our Blue Crew volunteers have helped with various projects such as putting together race bags for a 5K fundraiser, helping with day of registrations, indoor painting projects as well as helping with community yard cleanups. They have helped to sort and organize donated basic need and clothing items, as well as food. You can often find a member or two of our Blue Crew regularly volunteering with the United Way of Southeastern CT mobile food pantries. 

Yes, as the requests for support have grown tremendously over the last several years, we have prioritized our support to local non-profit organizations that are headquartered and have projects within the towns where we have a branch present. 

Our Blue Crew groups are typically 2-6 people at a time, serving for 2–4-hour time blocks. Due to Dime Bank being operational 6 days a week, we are not able to commit to multi-day events. 

There are a few event themes that Dime Bank does not support. Including (but not limited to): 

  • Religious events or fundraisers 
  • Political campaigns, organizations, or advocacy efforts 
  • Comedy shows 
  • Alcohol-focused events 
  • Any opportunity that conflicts with our company values 
  • Scholarships or scholarship funds for other organizations. 
  • National causes or charities. We prefer to support local non-profit organizations so as to have the greatest impact within our community.
